The 5th Annual Celebrate Centennial Under the Stars event is scheduled for Saturday, August 7, at the Centennial Medical Plaza. Coyote Team Volunteers Needed
The City of Centennial wants to remind all citizens that coyotes are in the area. Centennial has received calls and reports of sightings within the City and citizens need to be aware of their presence.
The City of Centennial does not have a volunteer program but is working with WildEarth Guardians’ volunteers to provide information about how to coexist with coyotes.

Centennial Receives Ruling on Medical Marijuana Dispensary
Arapahoe County District Judge Christopher Cross issued a preliminary injunction today in favor of “CannaMart”, a medical marijuana dispensary, finding the City of Centennial cannot rely on the federal law prohibition against marijuana sale and distribution to ban such operations throughout the City.

Coyote Update: Breeding Season is Underway
Coyote breeding season is from December to January. During this time of year, coyotes are more visible, very territorial, and can be more assertive in protecting their territory which is generally in the open spaces.

Work starting up again on County Line Rd. between Colorado Blvd. and University Blvd.
Starting Monday, March 2, activity will resume on County Line Rd. between Colorado Blvd. and University Blvd and University Blvd between C-470 and Otero Avenue. Initially work will begin on median and sidewalk construction. This will be followed with landscaping and final asphalt paving. Lane closures on County Line and on University Blvd. will occur daily between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Work will continue through June 2009.

Arapahoe County Offices Closed on Election Day
Arapahoe County will close the County’s Administration Building, CentrePoint Plaza, Public Works and Development, Aurora Motor Vehicle and Southeast Motor Vehicle to the public on Nov. 4 General Election Day for all non election-related services.

Arapahoe County and Centennial Sign Agreement for Long Term Sheriff's Office Services
On Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 8:30 A.M., Sheriff Grayson Robinson, Arapahoe County Commissioner Jim Dyer and Centennial Mayor Randy Pye proudly announced that the City of Centennial, Arapahoe County and the Sheriff have signed an intergovernmental agreement to ensure that public safety services for the people of Centennial will continue to be provided by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

County Line Rd. Scheduled to Close from Colorado Blvd. to University Blvd. February 5
Beginning next Tuesday, February 5 at 8:30 a.m. County Line Road will close between South Colorado Boulevard and South University Boulevard. County Line Road will be widened to a four-lane divided roadway with the addition of sidewalks, improved drainage, sound walls and filling of the “dip” that is just west of South Colorado Boulevard.

Centennial has installed an Accessible Pedestrian Signal
The City of Centennial has installed an Accessible Pedestrian Signal (APS) at the intersection of Franklin Street and Arapahoe Road. This signal serves as a beacon by making a loud chirp, beep or cuckoo noise notifying those that are blind when it is safe to cross the street. The cost for the APS was $3,200 and was part of the Federal Community Development Block Grant Program. One of the things these grant dollars do is help carry out community development programs.

Upcoming lane closures on Potomac
Beginning May 11, Xcel Energy will begin placing a transformer the northeast corner of Briarwood and Potomac (off Arapahoe Rd). Once complete lanes on Potomac will be closed for approximately 35 days.
