Board of Review Vacancies

The City of Centennial is currently accepting applications to fill openings on the Board of Review. Application forms may be obtained on the City website, www.centennialcolorado.com, or from the Deputy City Clerk, 303-754-3302. Terms are for a period of three years, for which a stipend of $25.00 per meeting will be paid to each attending board member. Meetings are held at 12503 E. Euclid Drive, Council Chambers, Centennial, CO 80111. Application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on May 22, 2008.

Board of Review – a board handling building code appeals. Meets at 4:30 p.m. on 1st Tuesdays of the month on as-needed basis.

Election Judges Needed
The City of Centennial is recruiting Judges of Election for the upcoming Special Home Rule Charter Mail Ballot Election, to be held June 10, 2008. Selected judges will meet the following requirements:

Registered elector of the City of Centennial

Flexible and available during the 10 to 15 days prior to and including the election date of June 10th

Previous experience as a Judge of Election desireable, but not required

Able to attend a 2-hour paid training on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at 12503 E. Euclid Dr., Second Floor, Room 270

Judges of Election will be paid $11.00 per hour for time worked. If interested, please complete the

Two Weeks of Night Hours at Streets at SouthGlenn
Saunders Construction has been approved to increase construction work at the Macy’s and Sear’s stores over the next two weeks (through May 23). They will be working night hours 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily so as not to disrupt ongoing business at Macy’s and Sear’s. The most direct impacts may be on neighbors to the west of the project. Saunders will require lights but they will be placed so they do not illuminate neighbors to the west.

South Suburban Orchestra to Perform Haydn, Mendelssohn
The South Suburban Community Orchestra will present its fourth concert this season at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 16, at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 251 E. Sterne Blvd., Centennial. Rene Knetsch is Music Director.

Orchestra member and 12-year-old soloist Kelcey Howell will perform Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C, accompanied by the full orchestra. Mendelssohn’s Scottish Symphony #3 and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture are also on the program.

The orchestra receives support from the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District, the City of Centennial and donations from audiences. [Additional info...]

County Line Open - One Lane in Each Direction
One lane in each direction is now open on County Line Rd. between S. Colorado Blvd. and S. University Blvd. The traffic lanes were opened on Monday, May 12. Even though County Line Rd. is open to thru traffic the roadway is still a construction zone. [Read News Release...]
