The City of Centennial has contracted with the Humane Society of the Pike’s Peak Region (HSPPR) as the provider for the City’s Animal Care and Control Services.
The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR), founded in 1949, is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the welfare of domesticated animals within the region. HSPPR rescues and cares for animals in distress, reunites lost pets with their owners, finds loving homes for homeless animals, teaches people how to properly care for and respect animals, as well as enforces animal ordinances. HSPPR’s current service area encompasses more than 5,400 square miles and 1 million citizens. This area includes the City and County of Pueblo, El Paso County, Colorado Springs, Douglas County and several other municipalities in the region and now includes the City of Centennial.
HSPPR’s agreement with the City of Centennial is to provide animal care and control services to the citizens of Centennial through enforcement of Centennial animal laws adopted under Ordinance No. 2007-O-03.
Officers are on duty during normal business hours and available on call to provide services seven days a week, 365 days per year.
